Folk dance music--Ireland]]> Galliards]]> Violin music--Ireland]]> Violin and piano music--Ireland]]> Lawrie, Margaret]]> Bygone Days, a recording dedicated to Meg's grandfather, fiddle player Michael Cullen from County Roscommon. The tune is based on the gaillarde, or gagliarda, a dance form which was popular in continental Europe in the sixteenth century. Margaret also told me that the galliard was popular in England, but not so with The Birmingham Céilí Band of which she was a member!]]> Burnham, Michael (violin)]]> Lawrie, Margaret (piano) (composer)]]> Creative Commons License
